Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Premiere Gameplay Trailer.

We have a new "Premiere Gameplay Trailer" from Ghost Recon Future Soldier offering the first look at in-game action from the next installment in the Tom Clancy tactical shooter series. On a related note, Ubisoft also announces that closed beta testing for Ghost Recon Online will commence on March 5, so players should head over to the game's website to sign up if they are interested in testing the free-to-play multiplayer installment in the series. This news is accompanied by a trailer showing off the classes from the game. Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Devs Hang with Navy SEALs, Feel Like Fools.

In order to make Ghost Recon: Future Soldier the best it can possibly be, Ubisoft turned to real-life professionals. This is usually a big marketing gimmick popularised by Activision for their Call of Duty efforts that ultimately has minimal impact on anything game-wise, but in this case Ubisoft got schooled. Creative director Jean-Marc Geffroy stated in the latest ish of Xbox World:

When you take a boot camp with former Navy SEALs you get a feel for how they’re strong, and how they are intuitive, how they’re trained. When we were done and we presented our ideas to them, we felt like fools. The game was too sci-fi, so we stepped back, and they helped get us where we needed to be. They showed us the physical and technical side of how they work.
All of a sudden, the future in Future Soldier is sounding a little bit more like actual. Geffroy continued:

If I have four guys – four Ghosts – and we kill 50 enemies with our guns, we’re superheroes. But if I have four Ghosts and I kill 50 enemies because I have used synchronized shots, because I have flanked enemies, because I have focused my fire, because I have gathered intel, then I am a soldier. Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Believe in Ghosts Trailer 2.

A second "Believe in Ghosts" trailer from Ghost Recon: Future Soldier looks to inspire your faith in the non-supernatural ghosts in the upcoming installment in the Tom Clancy-branded series of tactical third- and first-person shooters. The clip features former Navy SEAL Richard "Mack" Machowicz against a backdrop of tanks discussing customization of weapons in the game, and how it relates to his real-life experiences (seriously, this guy's nickname really isn't macho?). The clip proceeds to use in-game footage to relate the game to the recent real-life SEAL mission that resulted in the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Signature Edition Trailer.

Ubisoft has released a trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that shows off the Signature Edition content. The Signature Edition of the game is available as a pre-order-only offer with orders placed through Amazon UK, Ubisoft's own UBIShop, and GAME.

As well as the standard game, the Sig Edition comes with an exclusive multiplayer map; Moscow Suburbs, two weapons; the MK 14 assault rifle for the Ghost faction rifleman class and the AK-47 for the Bodark rifleman, two custom weapon skins and 48 custom headgear skins.

A third Inside Recon video fir Ghost Recon: Future Solider has been released which goes into depth on the game’s Guerilla multiplayer mode. IN the mode, players will fight cooperatively with friends against waves of enemies. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will release on May 24 for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - PC dated.

Ubisoft has announced a June 15 release date for the delayed PC version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were previously tied down for a May 25 launch.

Ubisoft also outlined PC specific features and minimum hardware requirements. A temporary broadband connection will be needed for one-time product registration at first launch using the player's Uplay account. Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - MP beta dated, Ghost Recon Network announced.

The Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer beta will run from April 19 until May 2 on Xbox 360 and PS3. Mill map It'll allow up to 12 simultaneous players to choose from three classes (Rifleman, Engineer and Scout) and play two modes across two maps, Pipeline and Mill.

• Conflict:Players battle to complete objectives located throughout the map and earn points, the team with the most points at the end of the round wins. Game session: one round of 15 minutes.
• Saboteur (available starting April 26th):A bomb spawns in a central location, both teams compete to retrieve the bomb and be the first to detonate it at the opposing team's base. Game session: one round of ten minutes.

The beta can be accessed in the following ways:

• Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction owners. Splinter Cell Conviction Xbox 360 owners can access the beta directly through the game

Ubisoft has also announced Ghost Recon Network, which is described as a free companion service that will support all future Ghost Recon titles. Available on PC, smartphones and tablets, the Ghost Recon Network site and version one of the iOS and Android apps will launch with Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 25. Beta players will get an early chance to try out some of the features on the Ghost Recon Network website and Android mobile app, both of which are in beta. Ghost Recon Network Key features:

Customize and share in-game weapons on the go:

• Use GunSmith mobile to customize weapons down to their inner parts in 3D and sync them to consoles
• Publish weapons to the GunSmith Gallery and browse guns posted by the Ghost Recon Network community

Track player history and friends' in-game status:

• Access personal player performance on Ghost Recon: Future Soldier & upcoming Ghost Recon games and compare stats on leaderboards
• Receive challenges, friend activity reports and community updates via the website or push notifications on smartphones and tablets

Receive exclusive rewards:

• Download the free Ghost Recon Network app at launch to unlock additional attachment credits in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
• Earn weapons and weapon skins in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier by playing other Ghost Recon games or interacting with other Ghost Recon experiences

Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - More realistic than COD.

Sci-fi shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will offer players a more realistic experience than arcadey shooters such as Call of Duty, Ubisoft says.

Creative director Jean-Marc Geoffrey told Eurogamer that Ubisoft has strived to keep Future Soldier grounded in reality, despite offering invisibility cloak-style active camouflage and the ability to sense enemy positions through walls. Geoffrey explained, referencing more casual shooters:

If you have a team of four guys who kill 40 enemies simply by running and shooting, it's not realistic. If you're that good at Future Soldier, it's because you're really well coordinated and have good equipment. It's not just because you're good at shooting. We don't want one guy running and shooting all the enemies and showing off to his team-mates. We tried to make people think before they start shooting.

I don't think shooters right now are too easy - the market has shown things like Call of Duty perform very well - but I do think there's something between this arcadey-style shooter and other games that are real military simulations that are quite niche. I think we can find a place between these two extremes.
Tommy Jacob, creative director of the game's multiplayer mode, agreed. Future Soldier targets the player who loves shooters but is looking for something new in the genre, he said, hyping the game's team-based antics: side-by-side fire fights or supportive flanking to secure a target. The game is not dissimilar to Battlefield 3 then, albeit with some snazzy sci-fi upgrades.

Future Soldier previously lost its grounding in reality, Ubisoft admitted, in an earlier build that depicted hulking battle-suited warriors. Jacob explained:

There was a time post E3 2010 where the game was modified. But it was not just the exo-suit and shoulder rocket launcher" that were too sci-fi. The Future Solider team realised it was creating something futuristic, but not something Ghost Recon.

We wanted to reign that in a little bit into something that was less sci-fi and more like what real special forces soldiers go through in terms of training and what he has available to him in terms of equipment.
But how grounded can a game with an invisibility cloak be? The technology is based upon prototypes available now, but not yet miniaturised, Jacob argued. So it's in development technology and thus coming, sometime, rather than being something completely Harry Potter-like. Another piece of new technology snuck into Future Soldier during development is Kinect. Martin Robinson wrote in Eurogamer's recent Future Soldier preview:

It's hard not to see it as any more than a briefly diverting novelty. What can Ubisoft say to convince people otherwise? "It's fun!" Jacob reasons. Like a novelty, then? But it is fun! We wanted the player to feel like they had the gun in their hands.

I don't think Kinect is ready yet for full gameplay combat, but to examine a weapon - it's like Minority Report. For us, that was the best method of integrating Kinect into the game. As far as convincing people, I'd just have to say - try it.
A month from Future Soldier's console launch, Ubisoft is now readying itself with plans for the game's beta. Ubisoft previously announced the beta would be restricted to those who pre-ordered the game, owners of Splinter Cell: Conviction and - in the US - PlayStation Plus members. Ubisoft confirmed that the offer won't be repeated for European PlayStation Plus subscribers. UK members of Ubisoft online service UPlay will be offered a key, however, and others will be made available in website giveaways.

The game is now done and dusted as to what's on the disc, Jacob added, but Ubisoft Red Storm will work throughout the beta period on tweaking settings for the final version, he added:

It's the first time we'll be getting such a wave of feedback on how things are tuned, how the weapons are tuned. These are things we can fix.
But while UK console gamers can play Future Soldier from 25th May, PC players must wait almost another month - until 15th June. Both of the console versions were started first, Geoffrey offered as a reason. Extra work will focus on optimising the PC game's "controls and rendering".

At one point Ubisoft told Eurogamer that the PC version of Future Soldier had been replaced by free-to-play PC title Ghost Recon Online. But this is something Geoffrey blamed on someone mis-speaking in an interview, he said:

It was a really bad communication. We didn't want to talk about the PC version because we were focused on the console one.
The game was always likely to come out on PC, he added:

It's a PC brand and we have designers who are PC players so we always wanted to do a PC version. It was just a miscommunication.
Looking further to the future, a raft of Future Soldier DLC content appears to be on the way. Jacob revealed:

There will be more game types coming. These will be paid-for DLC. Details of these are under wraps, but in the long term Ubisoft plans to offer "obviously maps, new guns, new modes. And maybe more stuff to come... we'll see.

Default Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Beta Classes & Beta Maps Mode Trailer.

Ubisoft has released two tutorial videos to help out players of the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer beta released yesterday. The beta will run from now until May 2 on Xbox 360 and PS3, and offers up gameplay in two maps with two selectable modes for up to 12 players.

The first of the two videos below will talk you through the two opposing factions in the game and the equipment you'll use in battle. The second clip discusses the two maps in the beta and the modes of play available.

Ubisoft Red Storm will be updating the Ghost Recon Future Soldier multiplayer beta with some tweaks, fixes and a brand new game mode, Saboteur. The team behind the GRFS multiplayer beta has been gathering some valuable feedback over the course of the last week and are updating the game with some much appreciated tweaks and fixes. • [Xbox 360 only] Grenades are over-powered: we are reducing the grenade blast radius according to your feedback and the analysis of your matches.
• [Xbox 360 only] You were confused by the 4-man party and 6-man team matchmaking: we are increasing the maximum party size to 6 in order to align with the team size.
• [Xbox 360 & PS3] We are universally increasing the speed of XP acquisition in order to gain additional feedback on the weapons and equipment unlocked later in the character progression system.

Currently Grenades and Party changes will only be active on Xbox 360; we are working to bring these changes to the PS3 Beta as well.

Additionally, the game mode, Saboteur, is being released a day earlier than stated in the GRFS multiplayer beta guide, meaning players will be able to try their hand at it today. In Saboteur use stealth and cunning to capture the explosive briefcase and detonate it on the opposing team’s objective, as described on the official website. Ubisoft promises compelling gameplay that emphasizes the teamwork aspect of Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
